Research on the classification and paleoecological study of Pterosaurs in Jehol Biota

Date: 2020-10-19    Times:

The young expert in vertebrate paleontology Wu Wenhao worked with the team of Prof. Zhou Changfu from Shandong University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Brian Andres from the University of Pennsylvania. With the help of the comprehensive and detailed bone data statistics and analysis of the Pterosaur superfamily in the Jehol Biota The morphological comparison has corrected the identification characteristics of Jidapterus and confirmed the validity of its genus and species name. It is proposed that the Azhdarchidae in the Jehol Biota is mainly herbivorous and arboreal, revealing the early evolution mechanism of the Azhdarchidae and the changes in the paleo-ecological environment of the western Liaoning during the Early Cretaceous. Relationship; It has important scientific value to study the early radiation evolution, classification and ecological differentiation of Chaoyang pterodactylidae and Shensaurus pterodactylidae, and the coupling relationship with the early Cretaceous environmental diversity in western Liaoning.
